Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center No. 2 completed

Kamigumi has completed construction on Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center No. 2 on a reclaimed site inside the central breakwater of the Port of Tokyo (Koto Ward, Tokyo).

As noted in the March 4, 2021 news release, "Construction of New Warehouse on Reclaimed Land Inside the Central Breakwater of the Port of Tokyo," Kamigumi built the new warehouse to offer reliable storage services in anticipation of continuing demand growth at the Port. In the greater Tokyo area, we have seen growing volumes of cargo that must be handled at constant temperatures, such as imported fruits and vegetables, grains, and food products.

Built by the flat-slab method, the new warehouse provides storage for cargo that must be handled at constant temperatures under optimal conditions. This is achieved through the constant circulation of cool air within the warehouse and high-quality logistics services made possible by cargo handling equipment that ensures fast, efficient handling. Through integrated operations with Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center, an existing adjacent warehouse, the new warehouse will establish efficient workflows and enhance the handling of cargo that requires constant temperatures, primarily fruits and vegetables. Rooftop solar panels on the roof will reduce environmental impact and supply some of the electric power used by the warehouse.

To achieve the targets of the Medium-Term Management Plan, having positioned core business enhancements as a priority strategy, Kamigumi will invest proactively to enhance competitive strengths and to realize medium- to long-term business growth.
