Construction of New Warehouse on Reclaimed Land Inside the Central Breakwater of the Port of Tokyo

Kamigumi has announced plans to construct a new warehouse capable of full temperature control throughout the facility on a reclaimed site inside the central breakwater of the Port of Tokyo (Koto Ward, Tokyo).

Kamigumi will build the new warehouse to allow controlled storage of growing volumes of cargo that must be handled at constant temperature, such as imported fruits and vegetables, grains, and food products. The warehouse also anticipates continuing demand growth at the Port.

To realize optimal quality control, in addition to air conditioning equipment capable of constant temperature control from 0 to 20° C, the new warehouse will feature optimal positioning of cargo handling equipment for fast and efficient operations.
The facility will be built adjacent to an existing warehouse (Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center). Plans call for integrated operations involving the two warehouses.
Solar panels on the roof will supply some of the electric power used by the warehouse. In this and other ways, Kamigumi is seeking to contribute to a sustainable society as an environmentally aware company. Kamigumi plans to implement other timely and diverse measures in the future.
