Kamigumi to construct Kamigumi Kobe Port Island Fixed-Temperature Warehouse (tentative name)

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Kobe; President & Representative Director: Yoshihiro Fukai; "Kamigumi" hereinafter) has decided to construct the Kamigumi Kobe Port Island Fixed-Temperature Warehouse (tentative name) in Berth D of Port Island ("PI-D" hereinafter) on its site located at the center of Port Island in the Port of Kobe.
PI-D is a major logistics base for Kamigumi, home to the Kamigumi Kobe Distribution Processing Center and other major facilities, including the Kamigumi Kobe Port Island Integrated Logistics Center produce building. The new warehouse will serve as an integral part of this logistics base.
The new warehouse will primarily handle imported fruits and vegetables. Temperature-controlled throughout the facility, including passageways, the new warehouse will realize a cold chain that allows cargo handling, inspections, and other non-storage operations to be conducted without exposure to external air, to ensure consistent quality maintenance and control. In addition, by equipping the entire warehouse with a state-of-the-art unit load automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS), the warehouse will not only ensure stable quality control but also support labor-saving operations.
To achieve the goals of its Medium-Term Management Plan, Kamigumi will continue to strengthen the capability to generate sustainable cash flows as it pursues one of the basic principles under the plan: "Increase the market shares and resilience of domestic core businesses."
