Kamigumi USA Inc. to begin operating company-operated warehouse

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Kobe; President & Representative Director: Yoshihiro Fukai; "Kamigumi" hereinafter) has made a decision to have Kamigumi USA Inc. (headquarters: Texas; "Kamigumi USA" hereinafter), a local subsidiary of Kamigumi in the United States, operate a company-operated warehouse near the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in California.
Based in Dallas, Texas, and Los Angeles, California, Kamigumi USA's businesses include freight forwarding, the transportation and installation of large-scale machinery, and, in collaboration with Kamigumi's Mexican subsidiary Kamigumi Mexico S.A. de C.V., cross-border transportation between the United States and Mexico.
This decision was made in response to growing volumes of export/import containers handled via the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and growing warehouse demand in recent years.
Located near both ports and with easy access to major highways, the warehouse will also function as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), a status that confers various benefits if certain conditions are met, including waivers of customs clearance procedures and tariff payments.
By making the most of this outstanding location and FTZ status, Kamigumi USA will meet customer needs by providing value-added services, including transloading, distribution processing, and freight forwarding, in addition to conventional warehousing, dispatching, and storage services.
Through aggressive investments in growth businesses, Kamigumi will continue to move toward establishing global businesses as a revenue base, one of the goals set under the basic principles of its Medium-Term Management Plan.
