Hydrogen Station Construction by Joint Venture Company

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Kobe; President & Representative Director: Yoshihiro Fukai), Toyota L&F Tokyo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Takashi Ogura), and SKM Corporation (Head Office: Kariya City, Aichi; President & Representative Director: Shunji Sugimoto) have decided to build a hydrogen station named Uminomori Hydrogen Station at the Port of Tokyo (Koto-ku, Tokyo), through a joint venture company ("JV") established for the purpose of constructing and operating hydrogen stations.

The hydrogen station will be constructed by the JV within the Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center, and will supply and sell hydrogen for fuel cell (FC) forklifts used by Kamigumi. Plans also call for the installation of both 45 MPa and 82 MPa filling equipment (dispensers) for use by general users, including large FC trucks and buses, both of which are expected to become more common in the future. The 82 MPa dispensers will be twin-nozzle dispensers to significantly reduce the time required to fill up a large FC truck with hydrogen. Depending on operational requirements, 20 FC forklifts will be initially introduced at the Kamigumi Tokyo Multipurpose Distribution Center.

Against the backdrop of the Japanese government's 2050 carbon neutral declaration and the Port of Tokyo's initiatives to expand demand and accelerate social implementation of hydrogen energy to achieve decarbonization, the three companies seek to help resolve global environmental issues through this business, which they believe is essential and has high business potential.
