Regarding establishment of a local subsidiary in India

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Kobe; President & CEO: Yoshihiro Fukai; "Kamigumi" hereinafter) has established Kamigumi (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd. ("Kamigumi India" hereinafter), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kamigumi Group in India.
India has overtaken China as the world's most populous country, and is expected to experience continuing economic growth. Strong logistics demand in India is projected to grow with the vitalization of its automotive and other manufacturing industries. Therefore, with the establishment of Kamigumi India, Kamigumi will create new business opportunities by proposing international intermodal transportation and high-value-added services in cooperation with local subsidiaries in ASEAN countries, targeting customers and other Japanese companies already active in India or planning to expand into India.
To achieve the goals of its Medium-Term Management Plan, Kamigumi will work on one of its key strategies, "strengthening profitability of overseas businesses," by focusing on strengthening profitability in selected regions through selection and concentration.
