Kamigumi to establish Sustainability Committee

In its meeting held today, the Board of Directors of Kamigumi Co., Ltd. ("Kamigumi" hereinafter) resolved to establish a Sustainability Committee ("Committee" hereinafter).

To date, the Kamigumi has promoted sustainable management with the Environmental Protection Promotion Headquarters playing a central role, based on its Philosophy: "By keeping up with the times and carefully responding to the demands of an ever-changing business environment, we take on challenges that are one step ahead of present-day needs. As a result, we strive to enhance our corporate value and the stability of our management, ultimately contributing to the realization of an affluent society."

In light of the growing importance of management aiming to realize a sustainable society while increasing corporate value, we have decided to establish the Committee, which builds on the functions of the Environmental Protection Promotion Headquarters, in order to accelerate sustainable management initiatives through strengthened governance structure.

This Committee is to formulate the Group's basic policies and plans on sustainability, deliberate on sustainability promotion measures, and cooperate with the Board of Directors on sustainability matters, while monitoring their progress. Under oversight by the Board of Directors, the President & Representative Director will chair the Committee, whose membership will consist of internal Directors, Executive Officers, and others. Outside experts and others may be asked to attend Committee meetings as needed, to enhance the effectiveness of Committee discussions.

Subcommittees established under the Committee organization will propose items for the Committee's agenda, such as specific sustainability promotion measures. Furthermore, a Sustainability Liaison Committee will be established with responsibility for matters such as execution of measures at individual sites, in order to implement sustainability measures and foster a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.

Through the enhanced functions of the Committee, the Kamigumi will continue striving to enhance corporate value by further accelerating sustainable maagement.
