Kamigumi to build Harumi Logistics Center (tentative name)

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. ("Kamigumi" hereinafter) has determined construction of the Harumi Logistics Center (tentative name), in the Port of Tomakomai (Tomakomai City, Hokkaido), is to commence.

While Kamigumi already operates a logistics center at the Port of Tomakomai, the volumes of government purchased rice, domestically produced rice for feed use, and similar cargo handled at the port have grown dramatically in recent years. With demand expected to continue rising in the future, Kamigumi decided to construct a new logistics center, to ensure it can respond appropriately and ensure stable service provision to its customers.

The new logistics center will consist mainly of a fixed-temperature warehouse, and also include refrigerated and fumigation warehouses to handle increasingly diverse merchandise. By shortening transit times, thanks to its closer proximity to the Port of Tomakomai and shipping destinations than that of the current facility, as well as enabling faster, safer work through installation of bulk vehicle loading hoppers with 160 ton capacity inside the warehouse to reduce elevated work, it will also allow a further jump in level of quality of services it provides to customers to meet their needs.

To achieve the goals of its Medium-Term Management Plan, the Kamigumi Group will actively expand investment for growth in competitiveness improvements and medium- to long-term business growth, as it strives to strengthen core businesses--one of the key strategies of the Medium-Term Management Plan.
