Notice concerning participation in car terminal business at Patimban International Port in Indonesia

On Friday, June 30, Kamigumi Co., Ltd. ("Kamigumi" hereinafter) acquired 15% of the shares in PT. Patimban International Car Terminal (PICT), a company established in 2021 by Toyota Tsusho Corporation to operate a car terminal in Indonesia.

Previously, the metropolitan area of Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta, used to be served by only one international port, the Port of Tanjung Priok. However, this port's cargo-handling capacity had become saturated and it offered poor access to the industrial parks that were emerging in the east, which led to traffic congestion. In response, the government of Indonesia has developed Patimban International Port (consisting of a car terminal and a container terminal) as a project funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan. PICT operates the new port's car terminal.

Automakers and construction machinery makers plan to advance into the Indonesian market, and plans call for opening an expressway to allow more convenient access to Patimban International Port. As such, the cargo volumes handled by the port are expected to grow.
Based on its participation in the car terminal business, Kamigumi plans to propose optimal logistics solutions to companies doing business in Indonesia.

Kamigumi will continue working to achieve the goals of its medium-term management plan through strengthening profitability of overseas businesses, one of its key strategies, and engage in active strategic investments aiming for medium- to long-term business growth.
