Kamigumi completes construction of the Minami-Honmoku Logistic Center No.2

On August 30, Kamigumi completed construction of the Minami-Honmoku Logistic Center No.2, a warehouse with temperature-controlled functions located at the Minami-Honmoku Pier in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

As noted in the news release "Kamigumi to Construct New Warehouse at Minami-Honmoku Pier" (November 27, 2020), Kamigumi is experiencing a significant increase in the throughput of grains (soybeans, azuki beans, mung beans, and various other beans), a mainstay commodity in this region. Given expectations of rising demand, Kamigumi decided to construct a new warehouse to maintain service stability.

All storage units in the new warehouse feature temperature-controlled equipment to allow quality control based on rigorous temperature control. It also has facilities for automatically weighing and bagging bulk soybeans, which will speed up work and save labor.

In addition, Kamigumi is realizing further improvements in operational costs and logistics quality via the integrated operation of this new warehouse and the existing adjacent facility of Minami-Honmoku Logistic Center No.1.

Solar panels on the roof supply some of the electric power used by the new warehouse. In this and other ways, through eco-friendly facilities, Kamigumi is seeking to contribute to a sustainable society. Kamigumi plans to implement other timely and diverse measures in the future.
