Kamigumi Establishes Locally Incorporated Subsidiary in Abu Dhabi

in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Kamigumi has established a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates called Kamigumi Middle East L.L.C. with the cooperation of the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Ports.

Since opening Khalifa Port and the nearby free zone called Kalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), Abu Dhabi has become a land, sea and air hub for logistics in the Middle East on par with Dubai. Recognizing that the region is expected to see further growth as a logistic hub of the Middle East, Kamigumi will relocate all business operations of its Dubai Branch to this new subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, which will serve as a primary site for the expansion of Kamigumi's business presence in the Middle East and Africa.

Kamigumi's Dubai Branch has been involved in a number of projects including transport services for the pier cap & viaduct deck segment for the Dubai Metro, the transport, assembly and disassembly of tunnel boring machines, and the transport and installation of large facilities for power generation and desalination plants in the Middle East and Africa. In addition, the branch handled forwarding related to Japanese ingredients and foods for the Gulfood trade fair in Dubai. All told, the branch has established a track record and expertise in transporting more than 3 million tons of items.

After establishing this local subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, we will be positioned to deliver high value added "Kamigumi-Designed Logistics" and further expand our business presence.
