Commencement of Operations of the Kamigumi Tokyo Container Terminal Y1

Kamigumi Co., Ltd. will commence operations at the newly completed Kamigumi Tokyo Container Terminal Y1 located at Central Breakwater Outer Wharf of the Port of Tokyo (Y1) effective December 1, 2017.

This newly constructed container terminal was completed in October 2017 and is leased from Kamigumi from Tokyo Port Terminal Corporation. Behind the 230-meter long berth offering a water depth of 11 meters is a 99,321 m2 container yard.

Compared to the existing Kamigumi Tokyo Container Terminal (Inner Central Breakwater) currently in operation, this new container terminal offers nearly double the stowage capacity based on land area as well as expanded container receiving gate and the latest IT facilities, including an automated system for container receiving. As a result, it offers enhanced convenience for all users.

Furthermore, the operations of the current Kamigumi Tokyo Container Terminal will be gradually moved over to this new terminal, and the vacated terminal will then be utilized for expanding into new business lines in the future.

We will continue to work toward providing high quality "Kamigumi-Designed Logistics" that can accommodate a multitude of customer needs and expanding our logistics business.
